Welcome back.

Nice car!

Shame you missed a good breakfast meet this morning which had a good turn out for the time of year. Still there will be plenty more chances to meet up.

Below is the latest events dates from our leader Scott Laurie ( s.j.laurie@btinternet.com )

Merry Christmas Everyone.

Just a quick update on PCGB

1. Test Drive Day at OPC Edinburgh. - This has been re-arranged and confirmed for January 24th 10am till 3pm with some nibbles at lunch. For driving there will be: Cayenne V8 D, Panamera D, Panamera Hyb, Cayman S, Boxster Man, Cayman or 911 GTS, 911 C4S Cab, Macan.

2. Sunday 28th December. Festive Breakfast Meeting at The Railway Inn in South Queensferry 10am. I have a table of 12 booked ! let me know if you are coming along !

3. New Years Run will be on Sunday 18th January "" I am now looking for confirmed numbers so if you are wishing to attend then please email to confirm. Lunch will be at the Lake of Menteith hotel. Meeting point tbc

4. Also a quick update on the euro tour "" I am now taking firm bookings !

I am still finalising hotels for the Euro Tour but just about everything is in place. just waiting on firming up total cost/availability on one hotel but I can confirm the following.

1. Departing Monday 3rd August from Glasgow, (ferry from Hull to Zeebrugge) "" Ferries departing 6pm and to be booked directly by yourself. 265 miles

2. Tue "" All meeting at Zeebrugge once off the ferry with a drive to the Black Forest in Germany for a one night stop over. (Dinner Bed and Breakfast included) 400 miles. We will have a lunch stop around 250 miles. The last couple of hours of the drive will be through the black forest.

3. Wed "" Heading South on the famous route 500 through the Black Forest and eventually meeting in Stuttgart at the Mercedes Museum. (D/B&B included) 150 miles Entry to museum is 8 euro. (If everyone wishes I can organise a guided tour. cost is an additional 80 euro per group "" we would require two groups to cover everyone "" I havent included this as the drive from the hotel is 150 miles through the mountains and time to complete could vary significantly based on traffic, weather etc.

4. Thu "" Visit and guided tour of the Porsche Museum. 1030am tour, two groups of 12. (Bed and Breakfast only) I will be organising dinner at restaurant in Stuttgart on this evening. (20 min drive to museum and back) Lunch available at the museum. (Please note no factory tour is possible as the factory is closed)

5. Fri "" Leaving as early as you wish "" we travel to the Oldtimers at the Nurburgring "" with full Porsche Hospitality for the weekend. (tickets can be collected from 9am) We are staying in a hotel in Adenau. (Dinner Bed and Breakfast in included on Friday evening) 165 miles. should be easy to complete in 3 hours so leaving 8am and collecting tickets we should all be there for lunch at the hospitality.

6. Sat "" Everyone can leave their cars at the Ring on the Saturday to make full use of the free bar and the dinner/party at night. Coach booked for 1am back to hotel "" included) (its about 6 miles)

7. Sun "" Coach departing hotel at 930am to return to the Ring in order that you can collect your car and spend the rest of the day at the race circuit. (Bed and Breakfast included) I will be booking a restaurant in Adenau on the Sunday evening. ( for those that are still wanting to make full use of the hospitality it should be possible to leave your car there on the Sunday evening as well and collect on the Monday morning "" taxis shouldnt be too expensive as its only 6 miles)

8. Mon "" Departing back to the ferry - 235 miles.

The price per person will be around £900, (based on two people sharing either a twin or double room) "" this includes, 6 nights accommodation of Bed and Breakfast plus Dinner on Tue, Wed and Friday evening and full hospitality for three days with Porsche at the Nurburgring, including the Saturday evening dinner and party plus the coach to and from the ring on Sat/Sun.

Driving Miles will be around 1500miles minimum. (most likely heading towards 1700 miles)

I have 8 twin rooms and 4 double rooms available. (For those that have asked for single rooms "" I have emailed all the hotels and waiting on costs "" but indications are these are wont be cheap and will add circa £400/per person. - I will confirm though.

I have been taking notes from those wishing to register to attend and from the 12 rooms, there are 7 pre booked already but to be confirmed with deposits.

I will have the final costs from the hotels in the next few days, but expect the cost per head will remain £900 or hopefully a little less. (I have made allowances for Porsche Hospitality to cost 340 euro this year so if it is less I will refund this)

To confirm spaces. I require £300 deposits per per person "" so £600 per room. Your space will only be reserved upon receipt of the cash. The deposit is non-refundable unless I can resell your space to someone else. Final payment will be required by 31st May and is non-refundable unless I can sell your space.

The 12 spaces available are available to PCGB members only and I have commitment from the hotels only until the end of January to hold the rooms. Thereafter the rooms will be released and there is no guarantee that the spaces will be available. Hence if you are wishing to attend I need deposits paid by the end of January.

If the 12 spaces are not all booked by the end of January I will offer the remaining weekend only at the Oldtimers without attending the full trip. (At present no old timers only spaces are available on this trip "" although a few have indicated that they may wish their partners/wives to fly out for just the hospitality "" if this is something you are interested in please contact me directly and I will see what I can do with rooms in Adenau)

If you have any questions please give me a call on 07803260417

I have tried to include a bit of everything on the trip. Fast unrestricted roads, mountain driving through the black forest, museum visit to Mercedes and Porsche plus the legendry Porsche Hospitality at the Ring with almost continuous racing. All Hotels are of a high standard and I will try and accommodate everyones preference of twins/doubles as required. Just let me know.

Regards

Scott
All the best.

Alan
