Hi there,

Joined up finally last month and see I am 'put' into R19 by the powers that be ;-)

I think I saw the next meeting is in Sunninghill on the 6th May?

Looking forward to meeting some of you and keen to help out where I can.....seems I have stumbled into a region with an Agatha Christie plotline developing [:D]

If you are not into Agatha Christie you can always specify which region you want to belong to. Obviously the standard placement is done of a purely geographical basis.

Cheers,

If the Royal Berkshire is in Sunninghill, and yes I suppose it is when I think about its location, then you are correct about the 6th of May. You've just missed our alteranative venue, which is the monthly visit to OPC Reading, that has been running since the beginning of the year. Third Saturday of the month, show up at 10:00 am to get the most out of the morning, as the OPC closes around 1:00 p.m.

What is going on in the region with regard to our R/O is well documented by now, but there is no conspircy theory. I am not going to identify anyone, but I can tell you that some of people who have posted the facts have been economical with the truth. To get a balanced view of the whole affair it would have been necessary to ask questions of those present, including Fabien. I have asked some questions, but again, I have only had answers from the board members, and club officials, beacaue Fabien has gone incommunicado. Let me say that I am not having a dig at Fabien, but let me also say that faillure of the R/O to maintain communication with the members he represents is unacceptable behavior. Fabien has resolutely failed to communicate with anyone for a long time. As much as I like to think of him as a respected acquaitance, and despite the support I gave, through this very forum, he must accept that, it has been shown that, his way has not been the best way to achieve resolution of the issues he had. Chris Clark has posted to the effect that a deadline for action from Fabien was last Saturday when the matter was going to be discussed at the board meeting. R19 will not be left without a regional organiser.
Leslie Kett, assistant R/O has made it known that he does not wish to step up; he is a good friend of "Le Fab" and I think it would put Leslie in an embarrasing position if he succeeded Fabien as R/O. So no conspiracy, the region is being looked after, and I'm sure the new R/O will be announced soon. It would be nice to get a name Before the 6th.

John - I think you mean France?![;)]

God, looks like we need to reassure everyone that NOBODY HAS BEEN MURDERED! So not really like Agatha Christie at all.

As far as we know anyway...

Welcome, Mark!

You mean you do not want to be the Captain 'astings to my Hercule Poirot and excercise the little grey cells mon ami.?
