Newbie with a 944!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all and Merry Christmas.
First post from me, but joined a couple of weeks ago. I'm looking for an everyday driver, but even then would only cover between 3-5 thousand miles per year.
I initialy set my budget at 2-3 thousand pounds, but have since become more realistic and have raised it to around 4 thousand (with permission from Mrs Dico/sort of [;)]). Though knowing me this will probably rise even further when the right car comes along!
I've had some very reasonable quotes on classic/limited mileage policies, and aparently theres shouldn't be much difference if I choose a turbo model. Mmmm!
Obvioulsy a turbo model is going to be a bit optimistic with the budget i'm on. Though I have been to look at the high miler black one on page 3 here. Its a good price I suppose, with lots of history and receipts, but its also the first one i've looked at.
Theres a couple on ebay at the moment that I have my eye on. One is a turbo model, but its in London so Iam unable to view it before the auction ends. And anyhow it will probably exceed my £4000 budget by quite a bit.

Theres also a lovely looking S2 in Kendal wich is only 60 miles away from me. If the price doesn't shoot up too much I may arrange a visit for an uneducated visit.

Does anyone think it is too risky buying such a vehicle in these circumstances?
Any other thoughts or comments?

Thanks in advance. I'm just off to open a 2nd bottle!

Best wishes. Paul
