Hi there,

I just signed up to the forum so thought I would make myself known. I bought my 924S about 8 months back (see below) as a non runner:

Just after xmas it fired for the first time, and in april I got her MOT'd and taxed and after some restoration it now looks a bit better (tho still tatty):

Now all was going well until suddenly (while pushing the car quite hard, 5200rpm in 5th) the oil pressure dropped suddenly!! I limped home on about 0.5 bar idle pressure, 4bar max (where previously it ran 2 bar idle, 5bar+ max). Then the next day tried to start it and found no pressure at all.
I then removed the oil pressure relief valve and cranked"¦.but no oil. So for no oil to be present here I would be right in thinking its either the oil pump or oil pick up pipe? I have removed the sump and below is what I noticed:

Does that look like a cracked pipe? I have been told that although not very common, these can crack under excessive vibration? That might explain the graduated loss of pressure as the prime was slowly lost? Anyone had one of these crack before? Did it look like that?
I have posted in the 944 forum as obviously you chaps have the most experience with this engine. Any advice much appreciated.
cheers
