Hello,

Have just entered into the world of Porsche and bought a 2002 996 Targa and must say I am really enjoying it, have also joined the Club this week so just waiting for my membership number to come through.
When I picked the Targa up they said to keep the roof greased, does anyone know how often I should do this ?
Also how do I find out what colour my interior is, it is light grey but there appears to be two types of grey for my year ?

Take a look at the VIL under the front compartment lid, or in the Maintenance Booklet. The first digit of the Interior Code will be:

3 - Natural Grey Leather
6 - Classic Grey
B - Space Grey
C - Graphite Grey
D - Natural Dark Grey

I don't think there is an official procedure or time for lubricating the mechamism. I can't find anything in the workshop manual about it. Maybe someone with a Targa can chime in.....

Hello APS,

That smile on your face never goes away with these cars.

I normally get bored with cars very quick but this ones so much fun.

I think its the point and fire feel that I like, as the only other car I have kept for years is my little smart for two (modified to 105bhp from 54bhp of course) and loads of fun as well, 2nd gears a riot.

Oh yes photos would be useful, will post some [:)]

It certainly does make me smile whenever I go for a spin, normally for no reason at all [:D]

First off thanks Richard for pointing out where to look for the Interior code, mine states C2 so looks like it is Graphite Grey and below are the photos of my car [:D]
