Newbie with some question Re: track boxster

Hi all

Currently been looking for a track car and owning an E46 M3 was looking into E30 325i's etc but have been given the offer from a friend of the family for a 01 2.7 Boxster but left hand drive.

LHD does'nt really bother me as it would be a non road legal track toy, although i do have some preservations about raping & pillaging a Porsche for track abuse

So main questions are:

What are they like to own for going on the track/reliabilty/running costs?
How much of it can actually be stripped?
What are standard brakes like?
How much for some minor mods and is it really needed ( exhuast, brakes, minor engine mods )
Anyone got any pictures of track Boxsters

Sorry for lots of questions but please feel free to answer what you can

Scott
