Welcome. Only independant I know are JZM at Kings Langley, Herts. Not sure if its the right area for you ? They have serviced mine in the past & been good. Would think that cruse was an option, as are most things on these cars!! but dont know if you can get a retro fit kit. Likely to be very expensive if you can. You might be able to get one from a breakers if you were to know what parts are needed. Douglas Valley have a few... Hi,

Just purchased my first Cayenne and thought I'd join the Forum, as previously a member on the Jaguar and RX8 Owners Clubs...

It's a 55 Plate Cayenne S with Tequipment Aero-Kit, Turbo Exhaust, Turbo 20 Alloys with crests PCM etc...

Although the car has 100k miles, it drives the best of the various cars I've driven in the last 4 weeks....

It has a full Porsche service history, has been meticulously maintained according to Porsche Guildford who have supplied and serviced the car from new, and has had new brakes and tyres all round in the last 3k miles....

Very happy with it, but will wait until I get the alloys re-furbished (kerb rash) before posting some photo's....

I'm going to get the car booked into the local OPC to have the 11o Point Check, a service (not due for 5k miles) and consider purchasing a 2 Year Warranty for it.... I know this costs around £1800, do you think it's a wise move...? Or do I save the money and have it in reserve for any potential problems further down the line...?

One thing I was surprised at, is that the car doesn't have cruise control, was this an extra on the S model...? And if so can it be retro-fitted...?

Finally, can someone recommend a good Independant Porsche Specialist...?

Thanks....

Instead of the OPC warranty, have you considered the AA's mechanical warranty, for about £67...? x5 claims per annum, max value of each claim is £500. Requires you to have breakdown cover, and for you to call them out in the event of any problem. They allow you to take you car to the garage of your choice. I've just signed up to this for the 04 TT that I've just bought...

Hi there .. Had retro-cruise fitted to my 55-plate Cayenne S by Porsche Silverstone .. just under £400.00 all in from what I remember .. They did an absolutely fantastic job, it was fitted with the proper part that you would have received if specced on to the car at manufacture .. dashboard cruise light even works with it .. Mr.P

Strange that, no cruise. I have had mine from new and it has Cruise but i do not remember ordering it. Must dig out the invoice

Welcome to the forum Paulo, not the busiest register, the Cayenne, but useful experience from the regulars. Cruise was definitely an extra - and well worthwhile as a license saver as it cruises happily at indecent speeds...
