Looks nice I have a 72 I am doing looks at about the same stage, I have fitted headlining and rear screens but not door handles and built up front doors. berny.

Photo was taken about month back since when I've also installed headlining and rear screen. I'm not in a hurry to install another lining anytime soon.

As you can see from my signiture I also have a '72 E and a '96 993. Perfect combination :- ) Tell us about your car. I see you have a ducktail fitted, what are your plans for it? Ian.

Lovely looking car. Nice combination of cars, early 911 and 993. Like Ian said perfect combination. Are you on the DDK forum? The restoration section would avidly follow your progress and provide assistance if required (not that it looks like you need any). More pictures please.

The 993 is distracting me a little at the moment. The 911 is destined to become a historic race.

Ducktail allowed as it would have been period for historic racing as I assume you are building it as an RS. I know of another RHD E that was converted to obtain an FIA HTP as an RS and I am sure the chap who did it would be happy to answer any questions if you are going that route. Ian.

Welcome to the world of Porsche. Very nice. Can never have to many toys! See you are making a few modifications, do you intend to re-install the same engine? Are you rebuilding that to? See you also have a lotus 7 ;). I bought a Westfield earlier this year as a project track car/toy. Is the Lotus a road or track car?

Nice restoration, I see you do not have the fitments for oil cooling pipes along the side of the floorpan under the RH sill. You will probably need them if you are going to race the car, or have the higher HP engine fitted even for road use (2.4S or 2.7RS) or will you have them non standard, running through the cars interior.

[/quote Before painting I made provisions to the front valance behind bumper for a large front mounted cooler.....and had thought to route aeroquip hose.

The 7 is an ex race / hill climb car which since its retirement I restored for "gentle"road use.....it's got a blue printed 1600cc K Series pumping out some 200 bhp....driving through 6 speed box.....with a splash of fuel it tips the scales at around 490kg.....achieved by upgrading everything possible to Carbon Fibre. I'm still open minded as to the engine which will go in the 911......
