Welcome Tania, I've just had quotes from Manning and Heritage (advertise in Porsche Post) which were very reasonable and included Porsche Club GB track days and European cover. The excess price increases for the track day cover though. There was a long running thread somewere about insurance but I can't find it. Here is one I did find though: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=524961&mpage=3&key=insurance򃱉

Hi Steve, Many thanks for your reply and for taking the time to post the thread. I'll check it out. I've actually just called Manning and I'll give Heritage a call too

Hi,

I've recently purchase a new 911 997T and joined the Porsche clus so thought I would stop by to say hi.

My insurance runs out soon so I'm interested in recommendations for insurance companies which include cover track day cover.

Thanks
Tania

I use Synergy this year, was with Zurich private clients last year for my 997 turbo. Both offer agreed value so no argument about depreciateion if disaster happens, although I have GAP via Porsche as well to be sure. I used Absolute Products as the broker and that has worked for me. You will enjoy the turbo an amazing car, my MY08 model is up for sale soon as I have a gen2 turbo s on order

Hi Grover, Thanks for the info! I just got a quote back from Manning. Excluding track day cover £3,100. Including over £3,300! I think I'll keep looking!

Hi Tania, Recently got a 997 turbo with bells and whistles and after much searching am using Swinton about £280 with no tracker requirement haven't got track cover yet as am still in the Isle of Man and live on the TT mountain road

Hi Tania, Have you tried Porsche Insurance Services. I had a 996 C4S, I was with AON / Footman James and when I was re-quoted for the 996 Turbo I bought last month premium went from just over £400 to just under £900.[] I was at the OPC in Aberdeen and they referred me, new car now insured for just under £400. Result!!!!!!!!!![:D][:D][:D]

I don't blame you for continuing to look!! I've never paid anything like that sort of money [&:] Welcome to the forum...and 997 Turbo ownership garyw

Yes but......lots of variables when it comes to insurance, as we know! Age, points, NCD, postcode - to name but some[;)] PIS include two track days, Tania

So you're saying I'm old [;)]

No Gary, that would be the old pot/kettle/black thing! So I'm saying, for all we know, Tania maybe 20 years old, lives in Liverpool (sorry Liverpool, I love you really), has 9 points and no NCD![:)]

Another case of mistaken identity for Porsche forum to post on [:(] We are much more vocal on the 997 forum Tania on 997 Turbos - in fact you can't shut a lot of us up! I pay wayyyy under £1000 for my 997 Turbo and am a lot younger than these more 'experienced' gentlemen. AON are by far the cheapest insurer for me (by a factor of at least x2) BUT they don't cover you for track days. For that I would look at Porsche Insurance or A Manning.

Thanks guys for your replies, it's much appreciated. I'm armed with a few names now and will make some calls today. Hopefully I'm able to sort out a reasonable deal!

Be careful with Nowell and Richards. I accepted a quote from them last year for road and track day cover for myself and my son and when I received the paperwork weeks (yes weeks) later discovered the track day cover was for me and spouse only. When I queried this they took ages to try and sort it out and ultimately were only able to provide the cover I needed at a cost of hundreds of pounds more making it totally uncompetitive. They later admitted their mistake but overall I was very unimpressed by their service level and response times.

dont know how you finished up with your insurance but i have found manning useful if you put enough excess in limit your miles and strip out what you really really dont need you will find it will come down loads also hope you had a good day at the silverstone event and your oil consumption is coming out ok on your turbot yes thats right turbot thanks for the lift back to my car i realy enjoyed the day Ian

There's a long running insurance thread on the 996 section. Worth a look. I insure my 996 Turbo with Groupama through A-Plan. They covered both my cars very competitively so probably worth a look.
