I am pleased to let you know that I have taken over the role of 992 Register Secretary from Phil Graham. He is a busy man and I am delighted to be able to continue to take the register forward.
So a quick introduction from myself.
After a career in the Royal Navy (Fleet Air Arm) as an avionics engineer and diver, serving on several ships and naval air stations, I concluded my career in IT and technical services in two northern universities.
My wife and I joined PCGB in 1990 with a beautiful 944 Lux which I absolutely adored in the six years that I owned it. From there I have owned no less than six 911’s in various guises, latterly a Cayman 981, culminating in my current 992 Carrera 2S. Without doubt this car is awesome.
My Club background:
In some form or another I have been an official of the club since I joined all those years ago.
Together with my wife we set up two new Regions, Dorset & Somerset (R26) in 1990 and the Lancashire & Cumbria (R18) in 1994. Overall I was a Regional Organiser for over 13 years in total.
During my ownership of a 911SC I served as the 911SC Register Secretary for a short period in the early 2000’s.
Spending nine years on the board of directors over two periods was a fantastically rewarding experience being able to give so much to the club, culminating in the honour of being your Chairman (2014-2016).
In 1998 I was privileged to be awarded Honorary Membership and my wife received hers in 2014. I was also delighted to receive the club's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016.
I have been the club's Forum Admin for the last 18 years, so you could say I have PCGB flowing through my veins!!
I live in sunny Lancashire and I understand that in the future there may well be a southern area 992RS.
This is our register and to make it the success that we all want then it cannot be done by me alone. With that in mind I would like to form a small group of enthusiasts who are willing to assist me with technical, newsletters, media and events. We can get together using Zoom or other means on a regular basis.
I am looking forward to the challenge and with your help and assistance we can really look forward to enjoying our Porsche’s in 2021. Covid 19 permitting of course!
