NEWS - Porsche release individual transmission parts

At long last, Porsche has released individual parts for the Getrag 6-speed manual gearboxes used in the 996 and Boxster S. They have also issued a TSB to authorise repairs to these gearboxes, which means the OPC's should be able to repair rather than replace them in the event of a problem.

The G96 transmission has been repairable by good independents for quite a while, obtaining parts from non-Porsche sources. Now they can source original parts for repairs. Good news indeed, and hopefully Porsche will do the same for the ZF Tiptronic transmission in due course.
