Nice shiny new car

Just had my car detailed after the Blyton trackday, and in readiness for the South of France trip of course[:D]

The guy that did it was awesome, he was at our house for 13 hours despite only charging for 8. I genuinely couldn't believe the difference.

If anyone is considering having their car detailed, I would certainly recommend it. I was sceptical as to whether I would see the difference, but it really is almost a different colour once the grime is lifted and the swirls taken out.

If anyone wants to see the pictures pm me and I'll send a link to the facebook album.

Looks brilliant Mark, after seeing what they've done to the blue on your motor, I may have to have some TLC done on mine prior to the trip [:)]
Mind you for some reason or other I always seem to have the dirtiest motoron these trips [&:]

I use Tescos finest!!!

Car looks great. I have contacted your detailer and will have him sort my new motor out on my return home.

Hope you'all have a great uneventful trip ( From sunny Georgia on a different type of 4x4)

i see your 997 blue cab is up at hatfield jonathan, presumably at a little more than trade in!!

He's done a super job Mark, and these nano sealants are incredibly effective. Mine has GTechniq sealant and it was still beading up after a year, and has recently been topped up. Trouble is I now have a shelf full of lotions and potions that are gathering dust [;)]

Hi Dylllan.

The OPCs have to make a profit and although on paper they have put a high markup I suspect they will settle for considerably less. I did hagle over the cost of my 991 and to be fair was offered a much better trade in by Hatfield than other OPCs.

that you had a good trade in is good to know jonathan as i will be hopefully trading for a 991 sometime the next few months and ive always found paddy a fair man to do business with having bought the last 4 from there.glad to hear youre happy with the new cab-we are testing it at luton hoo in a couple of weeks time and fingers crossed linda is as happy[;)]

Hi Dyllan

Paddy has left for the other prancing horse team! I was a client of his for all the time he was at Hatfield and I think that was about 20 years. He has suggested that I now use Lee although I have never met him and am unlikely to be buying for the next few years. During my negotiations mainly via email I also dealt with Simon George who is I think the car sales manager. Timing is of the essence. I decided to trade towards the end of the financial year for me to obtain max tax efficiency and it was the end of the quarter/end of year and the OPC was keen to move metal quickly.

I am delighted with the 991. It is probably a bigger improvement than a Gen2 997 to a 996! My wife who on this occasion was not involved in the purchase and was not initially happy about actually loves the car and the bonding experience with the recent Clive and Alan SW tour really helped!

The Luton Hoo is a fabulous venue. I was fortunate enough to stay there on a Ferrari jolly a couple of years ago. It was a remarkable and memorable experience. It's good to know Porsche push the boat out occasionally too! [8D]

Regards,

Clive.

Thanks for that info Jonathan .

Indeed Clive I was surprised to get an invite to Luton hoo !!

I actually looked after the Wehrner family and their guests ( once a yr the Queen!) when it was a private home and we were the private docs for The Hoo - must say they have done a great job doing it up as it was " a bit faded " towards the end of the 80's!!!!
