Ninemeister dyno day

Colin Belton has invited us to Warrington on Saturday 8th July to put our cars on the rollers. Each car will get 2-3 runs on the dyno until maximum power is recorded and you will then receive printed graphs showing bhp and torque. These are very useful as a health check of your engine and pinpointing any potential problems, and proof for club night bragging.

I have located a Shell petrol station, reasonably close to Ninemeister, so we can fill up on Optimax.

Cost is £35 per car, please mention to those that do not access the forum, and advise if you are in below.

I would normally jump at the chance, but am making the annual pilgrimage to GWFOS - no choice in the matter there I'm afraid [;)]

[FONT=verdana, geneva"]Martin, I have only just stumbled on this post.
I wonder whether you have any support for the Ninemeister day.
As I am Cheshire based it would be a very convenient event and date for me. So, if the day is happening and you can cope with an interloper count me in!!
I have a 1987 911 Turbo.
Thanks,
Peter

Peter at the moment to more the merrier. We need at least 10 cars to make it worth while. I hope interest will improve as the date gets nearer.

Martin

Martin, called Ninemeister today, they can run all four wheel drive cars with the exception of 964's. Regards, Kevin.

Hi Martin,

Count me in on this one. Please let me know if I have to book a particular time for my car or do we just arrive and wait for our turn. Would prefer a time slot if that is possible as I would like to do other things that day as well.

Regards

Adam

Hi Martin,
Add me to the list please, looking forward to seeing just how much horse power a new 997 4S has straight out of the box.
Is the 355 a conservative figure or will they have built in a little more !
By the way have you and Gina got your new Boxter yet ?

Regards
Mark & Mags

So far to date we have the following expressing an interest for the rolling road:-

Peter Aston
Adam Sobek
David Vickers
Mark Howe
Martin Plavins

Are there any more to be added to the list, this is not exclusively for the Yorkshire region, the more the merrier.

Depending on the time I would like to attend ... needs to be first thing though as I need to be back by lunch time.

Colin's preference is for us to arrive around 10.30 "" 11.00 but if you would like to make it later it is not a problem. At a leasurely pace, dynoing 6 cars will take around 2 hours so it will allow us plenty of time to have a chat. He will probably have his RSR & the 9m supercharged 968 available for a demo run or two, should be interesting to compare notes.
If no one objects Burriana and Adam can go on first.

Ninemeister is about 40 minutes from Birch Services on the M62/M60 so if we meet up at 9.45 it will give us a chance to fill up with some Optimax.

We will discuss further at club night this Wednesday.

Hi Martin,

This time suits me fine. However I will meet you at the venue, as I will be coming into Warrington from the south on the M56. I appreciate being near the front end of the queue as I would like to be finished by no later than 12h30

Regards

Adam

Hi Martin,
I plan to go directly to Ninemiester on Saturday and meet you guys about 11am. I look forward to an interesting day!!
Peter

Hi Martin

Couldn't make it to club night but unless you post some change in plans I'll see you at Birch services at 9.45

Thanks Martin, for organising this event. I am really pleased to find that my car is still in good condition despite its 19 years and 115000 miles. Hope the rest of you are as pleased with your graphs as I am.

Thanks to Ninemiester for their time and refreshments.

Regards

Adam

And thanks from me to everyone who took the time out to come over for the day, shame that the date clashed with other events but if there is interest I would always be willing to run another one later in the year, perhaps with a bit of friendly Lanc/Yorks competition??

From memory a summary of the tests recorded on the day were:

Adam: 3.2 Carrera = 230-232bhp
Peter: 4 speed 930 with 1.0 bar boost spring = 318-320bhp
Martin: GT3 Mk2 = 385-392bhp
David: 996 3.4 with air filter/silencer mods = 295-305bhp
Mark: 997 C4S = 354-355bhp
Paul: 964RS Cup = 287bhp

I think I am right in saying that there were no surprises in any of the results, just a shame we did not have anyone to challenge the current dyno record of 660bhp of a recently 9m modified 3.4 litre 964 turbo 2.....
