No Aircon!!

And today is the day to notice, of course!

After spending half an hour gradually dropping the temperature, it struck me that the air coming out of the vent was clearly hot. Not cold. Which is odd for an aircon system.

Is there anything obvious that I might have missed - something that would leave me redfaced when the OPC gently interrupts my screams of "WARRANTY!! WARRANTY!!" and points it out to me?

Yes, the aircon is switched on btw - the little snowflake is showing.

The obvious is that your gas is low or gone. I had a Boxster that did exactly the same and it turned out to be a leak in one of the rads. But it could just be you need re-gassing. You can get it charged and tested for leaks. The last time I did it it cost me £70.00.

YOu should run your air con at least 30 minutes a week to lubricate the seals - i only turn mine off with the roof down.

All or some of your seals may have dried out and the gas has escaped - just regassing will not sort it if this is the case

OPC Swindon agree. They're planning to re-gas it and add a dye so that when it all escapes again they can see where it's come from.

Good, prompt service by telephone and the exact booking time I asked for. Is there any way of making the dealers I use for the other cars go and study there, perhaps?
