A great visit it was too!

Very informative, and very useful.
Nice of them to say they would offer a discount to the club as well.

Pass on my thanks to them, and thank you for organising Fab [8D]

Well, I did let you know in the only way I could that I wasn't going to make it as soon as I knew - about half nine on Saturday morning. The (irritatingly delicate) fuse on my battery conditioner had blown at some point, so I couldn't start the car, and had no other way of getting there. I was pretty p***ed off about it too if it is any consolation - the whole reason I wanted to come was because I want some paintwork doing and wanted to "check them out". What did you think of the standard of their work Mark?

Glad you had a good time. Sorry again.

Hi.

Re: Specialised Paintwork & the quality of their work.

I recently had the sills replaced on my 3.2 coupe, including a part-respray of the drivers side area. I used Specialised Paintwork & found their work to be of a high standard, if a bit expensive.

They are a friendly bunch & understand those of us that are a bit precious with their cars. They took loads of photos of before, during & after the work was completed so I could put it in my history file, without me needing to ask.

I'm using them again at the moment to do a small piece of work on my rear bumper (slight corrosion around the bellows) prior to my car's sale. I will miss dealing with people like them & Northways once my car is gone.

If it is any consolation, I am using them as we speak for a respray of the front end of my 993 following receipt of the email about the discount!

As said above, not cheap, but have impressed me greatly so far. Can't wait to see the finished result!

Ditto not cheap. However, I got my car back today after having the alloys restored. 4 rims, 1 face. With the discount, it came to ÂŁ428 but the wheels look like new. I had asked for them to re-chrome the rims as per new but I got a phone call to say that they were too badly pitted for that. However, would I like them painting with some new fangled paint (for Lotus Exige alloys in fact) which generates practically the same effect but lasts significantly (years) longer?

It's nice to come across people who really care about their work.

Got my 993 back from Specialised on Saturday- what a job! Simply stunning, and I have nothing but praise. Considering all the work they did, I think it was a fair price. PCBG discount was a useful saving too...

Didn't realise they could do wheels... pity.

Dear All,

I'm very pleased with your feedbacks.

At Specialised Paintwork they do a great job. Not cheap... but very good value for money... even better with the Thames Valley PCGB Discount (BTW, open to all PCGB Members)!!!

Thanks!

Fab

Fab,

Not sure if you've spoken to Carl in the past few days but there was a very familiar looking 996 Cab parked outside when I picked mine up.....

John,

Interesting... indeed, OPC Reading told me they sent my car to Bodytechnics / Slough...

I was "double-surprised" when I got my car back... mileage didn't match... I'll call Karl tomorrow.

BTW, John will you be available for our Thames Valley Christmas Dinner (January 14th)?

CU soon.

Thanks!

Fab

Hi Robert

I was there the same day picking up my car (I had the bumpers shot blasted and re-sprayed) ..and I saw your car there ..very nice! Love the colour! [:)]

Karl and his gang did a fantastic job and there customer service was second to none. They had my car for two weeks and during that time kept me up to date of the progress every 3-4 days! I never had to call them once. Fantastic!![:D][:D][:D]

Here's some pics.. Bumpers removed..

Dear All,

Very pleased with your Specialised Paintwork feedbacks.

So tell me, from which range of suppliers do you need a discount? Then, I'll try to find and get another visit + striking discount scheme.

Life's easy in the Thames Valley... isn't?

As usual, r19@porscheclubgb.com

Thanks!

Fab

Sunseeker Powerboats? Not that I could afford one even if you negotiated 10% off!, but it would be a fascinating tour...

I'm afraid it comes with the 'territory' Fab -unless you get some money up front, charity donation etc., some ppl will just look at the weather on the day and decide they can't be bothered, get a better offer, want a lie in........

And the thread bears another point I keep making -you gets wot yer pays for....
