Hello again. A change of mind regarding the September purchase of an '09' GT Silver Turbo 997 with the new PCM that I posted here about 10 days or so ago...

Now decided on a newly landed Meteor grey one with current PCM from the same OPC. Reason:- Better PX on my X51 C2S & I don't mind not having the latest PCM. Available now after they've painted front spoiler & rear apron. Spec is:-

Meteor Grey Metallic
Black Leather Interior
Electric Sunroof
Adaptive Sport Seats
ParkAssist
Manual Transmission
Sport Chrono Package Plus
Heated Seats
Floor Mats
Telephone Module
CD Autochanger
Side Skirts
Door Guards Stainless Steel
Thicker Three Spoke Steering Wheel
Porsche Crested Headrests
Porsche Vehicle Tracking System
Short Shift
Cruise Control
Front lip & rear apron painted[/LIST]
Due to pick up next week. Am aware that full post code isn't possible with the sat nav. Is this a real problem? Apparently the traffic information is there though.

Thanks,

Greg

Greg, I think you've picked the best colour.... [:)]

I've never found any issue with the Sat Nav, true it does have its limitations such as the postcode thing, but in Europe thats fine.
Comes with a great spec' too..

I think it is a problem in some areas. Lots of addresses here don't carry street names, so with no full postcode it's impossible to nail the address accurately. But it's a small problem that a 200 quid Garmin can easily resolve. It shouldn't spoil your driving experience. Good luck with the new car. Nice spec, [:)]

If you have access to google earth, type in the full post code, read off the geographic cordinates and plug those into the PCM. You cannot get more accurate than that. I do that all the time to see peeps with no street name / number.

Very wise decision!! A big % price jump for just a PCM seems like Porsche getting their money back on US weak dollar to me.

MarcBC,

I didn't know you could do that - enter coordinates from Google earth. Very good idea. I hope the instructions in the hand book are clear enough & explain how to do it. As Clive says perhaps I can get those coords from our TomTom & do exact same thing.

Thanks everyone.

It is seriously easy. When you look at the "target" input screen it has an option beneath address titled "co-ordinates" or similar.

Can't wait! Picking her up on Tuesday 24th June.

My first ever 911 turbo.

Best regards,

Greg

It would be nice to hear what difference you find going from the X51 to the Turbo..
Fuel economy etc...

Garyw,

Yes, certainly. I'll let you know.

From a really brief test drive in a Turbo a few months ago I thought the X51 was a little more responsive up to around 2.5k revs. I'll try & do a better comparison after a few miles in the turbo though.

Thanks,

Greg
