No more leather squeaks!!!

I decided to make a new post on this since a few forum members were interested...[:)]
In one of my earlier posts I mentioned that I had some squeaks in the interior that I felt were coming from leather rubbing agains each other and different panels (doors, back seat area, etc...)
Recently I purchased 2 products from the German company http://antifrictioncoatings.com/english/index.html
one is called Leisol and is in form of lotion. It mainly used for stick-slip free contacts where leather, vinyl or foil covered sides press against themselves.
Another LIP AC612/21 is a ckear coat and used on harder surfaces where Leisol does not work...
I bought both of them.

As you can see from the pictutre they look like OEM products and I do not think you can buy them in the shops...

So...[8|]
I loosen the screws on all the pannels and pushed the Leisol as deep as possible with the little soft cloth... I used a narrow screwdriver to push the cloth as deep as possible...
- doors - all the pannels, plus side pocket door
- rear - all pannels on sides and behind the rear seats
- front seats - everywhere where leather touch itself and on both sides where the backrest is fixed (palstic pannels)

The most difficult was with the dashboard.. There were some squeaks above the radio where leather touches the metal... I could not do it with Leisol and used another product. Since I did not want to loosen the dashboard (your never know... ) I took a little sponge and pressed the liquid as much as possible upwards between the metal and the dashboard (make sure you do not spill the rest on your dash...)
All prosedure took me about an hour...

The drive test showed - 99% of squeaks were gone even on the roughest road suface I could find! Then feeling is that even the ride became more comfortable since there is almost no noice in the salon...

I think that if to apply these products before assemmbling the pannels there will not be such thing as leather or vynil squeaks!

I paid some 50 Euro for the products and I can say that the money was well spent!!![:D]

Hi Andrew

You posted this quite a while ago now. How has the treatment lasted? Have the squeaks returned?

And did you buy the products direct from LIP or do their have a distributor?

Many thanks
Mark

Hi there, I bought just the Leisol largely on the advice of 'ach' (many thanks) and have found it to be very good. Trying to buy it from Germany was a struggle as they don't take credit cards, I almost managed to do it by offering to pay one of their staff by paypal, but in the end they sent it to Swissvax in the UK who in turn sent it to me. I don't think Swissvax stock it normally. It is easy to apply and only a little is needed at a time. The seats stopped squeaking and the door rubbers became silent also. However, mine has benefited from a further application after a few months, as it presumably was drying out and the squeaks were returning slightly. I didn't need to do the dash on mine.
Highly recommended.

Hi, Mark
Harvey already answered most of your questions.
The treatment last for months (in my case I do it twice a year) is very easy to apply.
I ordered it directly from LIP. It seams they mostly work with OEM directly (you can see it from the packaging that does not look like a consumer package.

I can highly recommend it - easy to apply, no traces, no side effects etc.

Cheers

Andrew
