No spark!!???

If anyone could help me I would be very very greatful!! I have just bought a 964 c4 Cab, and I can't get it to start!! I am getting 12volts at the coils which collapses to 9 volts as I turn the engine over, but theres no spark coming from the coils?? normally I would condemn the coil but with there being 2 I'm sceptical that this is the fault.

How quick is she turning over?

IIRC if it dosen't reach 30+rpm then the "brain" will not allow fuel or spark, if its a DME problem you could always jumper out the DME relay, for a more detailed search try REnnlist forums in the states ands do a search over there, loads and loads of this has discussed before.

I had a no-start problem last year and it turned out to be the crankshaft position sensor.

Could be a lot of other things of course, but bare this one in mind.

Getting a hold of Adrian Streather's book on the 964 is a good idea. It's an invaluable reference for us 964 owners.

Thanks for you're advice, I eventually got it started, and it was the crank shaft sensor PLUG that was faulty!!!!! As soon as we changed the plug she fired up first time!!! so I've booked her in on Monday to be set up properly. Once again thanks for the advice, it's nice to know that I'm not completely on my own.
