No use for mufflers...

I have recently fitted muffler bypasses on my 996, took me four hours to fit [:)] (it was my first time!). They produce a very satisfying roar when you gun it, and I can definately feel thet there is more power there, although there is a bit of lag in the low rev range. You also get a few pops and burbles which is very nice. My ears are slowly melting away every time I get in the car, and the mufflers are just sitting in the garage doing nothing.

So... is there any modifications that anybody can recommend for me to do to the mufflers? A DIY Oettle mod perhaps (although I have no idea how to do this) or mabye I could gut the mufflers (no idea how to do this either). OR, is there any way to stop the damn resonance at 2-3k revs? Any responses would be greatly appreciated!

One way to stop it would be to take them off. Actually, that's probably the only way.

Have your neighbours formed a lynch mob yet?

Do a search on here for Oettle - there are quite a few photos of what's involved. As for gutting them, without all the right gear, you would be wasting your time. I believe that Gert Carnewal stocks the Robin Sun RSR boxes for the 996, which have some of the internals removed. The 993 RSRs used to be done on an exchange basis, so that might be an option.
