NO WINDOW DROP AT ROOF OPEN/CLOSE??

insatiable

New member
I seem to be requesting a lot of help lately, sorry about that!
When the roof catch is pressed and the lever pulled back the windows have decided not to drop. This also occurs when the roof starts the "raise " cycle.
I see in the Manual 61 01 01there is a trouble shoot on the relay carrier but before I try this I would like to know if there is a simpler solution or perhaps the "Fault Tester" would locate it.
Thanks,
Glenn

Push your finger in the hole where the hook for the top latches. You will hear a clicking sound. There is a pair of switches. One of those switches is for the window drop. I would start with replacing or maybe fixing the switch assembly to see if that is the problem.

I checked the switches and physically/electrically they seem OK.
To raise & lower the roof ,at present I lower the windows with the rocker switch but did note that when the roof latch is closed the windows go up in the normal sequence. Does this mean that the problem is more likely with the relay? Unfortunately there are no Boxters within 100"s of kms. so I can't just borrow a relay.
Cheers,
Glenn
