I am a newish RS owner and for my first ever track day have just booked in on a Porsche club Donnington event on the 22 May. Will my RS with a standard exhaust comply with the 98db limit ?
I don't want to end up with an early bath!

Good question Nick, can I add to it.... does anyone know if mine will be too loud also with straight through pipes - standard main box - straight through pipe -standard final piece (ie not G Pipe) ????

Jason, Your car should be fine provided you dont start the engine! Even the spec sounds loud....

98db and very strict indeed last 2 time ive been there turbos and gt2 sent home
cheers

I have been to Donnington a few times now and my 996 Carrera 4 with sports exhaust was noted as being a bit too loud and they asked me to run the car with the quiet mode activated for the rest of the day.

However the last time I was there with PCGB in September in my RS there were no such problems even with the car running a cat by-pass pipe and primary silencer by-pass (cup pipe).

There were a lot of GT3's that were far louder than my RS and they had no problem too.

My RS is std except for K&N filter and drilled airbox and I have never had a problem at Donington or anywhere else. I did try to find out what my car registered once and it was a rather pathetic but calm 96.7db on drive by [:(]

Have (quiet) fun.

That 98db is on drive by at Donny -shouldn't be a problem for most ppl.....
