Hi everyone can anybody help?
I drove my 987 boxster s yesterday for the first time after it has been stood for a few months and I have a noise from glove box area which alters if you turn climate off.
Could it be aircon gas noise ?? In the pipes
Many thanks

Steven,

When you turn off the A/C I assume that the pump will be turned off, so it sounds as though the noise could be related to that, although I don't know why you would still get some noise with the system turned off.

If the car's been standing idle for a while maybe it would be wise to get the system checked for leaks and recharged if necessary?

Hi Jeff
Thanks for the reply when you turn off climate the noise completely stops
I thought the pump was on the engine not in the front? or is there another
The noise alters I guess when the climate changes

It is Steven, but noise and vibration can be transmitted along the pipes from the pump to the evaporator and blower unit in the car's dashboard.

Maybe something in the system has worked loose in the area around your glove box and rattles around or is touching something when the A/C is switched on and refrigerant is flowing?

Jeff
