Just put my Spyder on the road after 6 months laid up ..I know I hear you say what a waste of a good car I was great to get out for a nice blast .When you have not driven it for a time it all feels new again ...windy at speed and harsh ride all come flooding back .
My question when starting it up and letting it idle and up to temperature the noise from the rear right hand side was very LOUD a tappet sound .I took it for a longish drive and returning the noise was just a load ,I have had this on previous Boxsters and went away after a run but this noise is very prevalent ..any thoughts is a visit to OPC or call out Porsche assist and get in into the dealers ..

Brian, I would call OPC and discuss with them if you have extended warranty. Then follow their advice if they think they need to see car.

No major till Sept 2015 . Still has warranty .called OPC and told by Ian Robertson with it lying for so long oil will have dropped from separators or some thing like that ,his advise run it idling for an hour and the oil will lift back up ,checked oil levels are spot on .Certainly a lot quitter now since ticking over

have a oil change then imo, these new service intervals are way too long, my car was much better after the major and new oil, as was my R, Will do one every year now, 2 years is crazy.
