Noisy Air Cob Fan

Have a 98 996 C2 Tiptronic.

Recently had a new air con condenser and rad fitted and the system re-gassed (air con hadnt been efficient for around a year) and now blows cold air perfectly in time for the winter [8D]

One thing I have noticed is that there is a noise, apparently coming from behind the dash - a kind of whining motor type noise which increases (i think) with fan speed so now leave the fan on minimum or just off.

I tried turning off the air con button whilst leaving the fan on and the noise goes away so its something to do with the air con for sure.

Before I bring it back, could this be a gassing problem or any other ideas? A coincidence or is the noise likely to do with the recent condenser change?

Thanks in advance,

Rob

I had same noise - whirring behind dash - engine speed related - disappeared when fan or AC turned off - did not return immediately when AC turned on again but did within a minute or so.

It disappeared completely after I had the system regassed - I guess the noise was transmitted from the 'dry' AC pump through pipework.
