noisy air con

My car has just had a major sevice including recharging of the AC system.

Before the service the system worked fine and there was no noticable noise from the AC compressor. After the service it blows really cold air sufficient to keep the car cool in 35 deg here in Athens[:)].

The only thing is that with the AC now on there is a very noticable whirring noise form the compressor which can easily be heard above the engine noise when driving. Is this normal?

Could be that there isn't enough gas in the system.
