Just wondering how many Non Varioram cars were made and how many are in the club.

Mine is Non Varioram model and I think I have only seen one other example.

Min's NVR too, and that's a 96 model (reg. December 1995). I picked a nonVR as (when the wallet allows) I can get it remapped and get more out of it.

Doesn't seem to be any consistency ref year then.

I have been told the same as Johnny C mentions, the Non Varioram is more tunable to obtain more power, especially when it comes to cams etc.

The main reason I started the thread, I was talking to a chap on the Autofarm stand at Silverstone and he believed that next year one of the Porsche racing series are going to allow 993's in but only Non Varioram cars, and he felt that this will add to the value of Non Varioram cars a little. At the moment some buyers seem adament that they only want a Varioram model. It is interesting that Johnny C went specifically for the Non Varioram car.

Guys...all you need to know is that the varioram first appered on the RS version, then it became mainstream for non Turbo 993....does any more need to be said? [:D]

Indeed from the RS.

Regarding the Porsche Club Championship it is correct that the 993 Non Varioram is eligable next year. There are a couple of people building cars for it already so should be interesting. The Varioram car is not eligable because it's too fast compared to the Non Varioram 993 and 964 that it would be competing against (that's from Steve Kevlin).

Ian.

PS The Non Varioram engine being more tunable is a myth.

Is it possible to upgrade non Varioram to a Varioram and has anyone done it? Or, is a remap more sense, assuming it improves the driving pleasure. Just ignore the fool if these are a silly questions.
