Non working spoiler

Hi guys,
I've just bought a 2006 C4S from a dealer. They fitted a turbo rear spoiler but weren't able to get it to lift either manually or automatically.
The button on the dash doesn't light up but I think the horn shares the same fuse so think its ok.
Anyone got any idea how I can lift it, even manually, for cleaning? By the way, the cables from the spoiler are plugged in so it's not as simple as that.

I am pretty sure the turbo spoiler will not work on a C4S, because the lifting mechanisms are different on the turbocharged cars.

I would have thought that the supplying dealer would know this?

Ah that may be the problem. I sort of thought that the turbo spoiler/ engine cover and carrera engine cover were interchangeable. Bought the car at Specialist cars of Malton. They seem to know their stuff.
I manager to raise the spoiler today by driving the ram with an old battery I have. there is no power at the connections to the ram!

I would have thought the car would have to be at least recoded for the Turbo spoiler...

The Turbo spoiler will work on the standard cars. The lifting rams foul on the standard air box, which has to be replaced with an aftermarket cone item. One of my local members did this mod recently so I know it should work.
I'll see if I can get him to post here his findings.

Yes the air box is a K&N filter. Sounds lush. [:D]
To be honest I would be perfectly happy this it working from the button on the dash.

Hi,
I managed to have a turbo spoiler fitted to a basic 997 Carrera. The airbox does have to be changed for a K&N item and even then it's very tight. I actually managed to lose all the hydraulic fluid during re-painting and that was a nightmare to re-fill. However, the excellent Alan at Cool It, Martinstown, Dorset is a genius and can fix almost anything. If you get really stuck, I suggest you give him a call.

Thanks for the advice guys.
Love the car by the way. Hope I can keep my licence long enough to enjoy it. [8|]

Only if you press the button and do it manually. When it raises automatically due to your speed then the light does not illuminate.

Of course the other light which may illuminate when it raises automatically is the blue flashing one in your rear view mirror........[:D]

On mine the light does not light. I disconnected the wires going to the ram and connected them to a meter, pressing the button had no effect on the meter.
The ram works as I got it to rise by connecting a spare battery directly.
