It had to happen one day I suppose. I turned right into a main road and didn't see a car coming. Damage to n/s front wing, door and rear wing. I feel an utter plonker. I'm insured with NU Direct and they have very promptly arranged for their "approved repairer", Solus, to take the car in on Thursday for repair. Does anyone have any experience with Solus in London?[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Cheers [FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Ellis[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Sorry to hear this. No have not heard of Solus, however, you are within your rights to take it to a bodyshop of your choice. They may ask you to get 2 quotes, however.
Personaly I would get a known Porsche specialist to do the work.
Good luck.

Sorry to hear your news Ellis....I would agree with 'last', get it over to Bodytechnics in Slough (Porsche approved - bodyshop of year 2008); I have recently contacted / visited them and am very impressed.

Regards

Andrew -
I would be interested to know more about Bodytechnics for future. Looking at the investment they have made I assume they will be very expensive?

Thanks,

Seb

If its Solus in Hendon, UB2 5NS, they are listed as one of the Porsche centre approved body repairers so you get a lifetime guarantee on the repair and they have to work to Porsche factory standards etc. As said already you are free to use someone else if you're not sure about them. Why not make a visit (I did when mine was being done by a Porsche repairer and they were very accomodating, explained the work etc).

Good luck!

Seb, Will get back to you on this as work proceeds.

I shall likewise keep you all posted on my car's progress through the repairs at Solus. You can track it all online which seems quite nifty. It went to their Heathrow branch which I am told deals mainly with "High End" cars. Fingers crossed.

My 996 C2 neighbour, somewhat accident prone, has had her car with Solus several times and they've always done an excellent job. I belive that's where Porsche West London get most of their bodywork done. They should be fine.
