ALL - The annual visit to this small airfield for our usual social gathering takes place on SATURDAY JULY 12. This time we are inside the perimeter on the left as you come in through the gate, down a gap between the trees & onto a grassed area set out for our display.
The bacon & sausages are on the menu throughout the day done by the flying club. As previous years this is the vintage plane fly in with visitors from afar. A few air displays finishing with a Spitfire fly past. Bring your walking boots if you fancy the sea wall walk.
Location is the village of North Coates, coast road, A1031, 1 mile & half from the small grass triangle middle of village.
Turn up from 10 a.m.
Free entry.

As usual for former RAF North Coates, a lovely and friendly time was had by the 10-12 cars that turned up. I'm sure the comment from the R8 924 that R4 were a bit cliquey was purely tongue in cheek! The day was quiet to start with due to the inshore mist that curtailed flying. Once the sun burnt through the flying was soon back on the programme, along with the R4 queue for Helicopter and light aircraft flights. Great to see a couple of new people turn up, hopefully we will see them again at a friendly R4 event.
