Northern Ireland owners and MOT?

Govt Test Stations so a bit more regulated i think.

Im asking as it says this on the NI Govt website

Exhaust system

All exhaust silencers must be maintained in a good and efficient working order. You will be breaking the law if you remove a silencer or make any modification that would make that vehicle emit a noise louder than the original exhaust before it was modified.

Yes am getting the PSE fitted in spring but was thinking of x over pipe rear silencer replacement too but then saw the info on the website above and wondered if they were strict?

I took a different root

Mine had a retro fitted Porsche PSE around two years after he bought it, fitted by his local OPC.

Quickly, and I confess to a dislike of exhaust blast a low revs I recycled it [:)]

Retaining the old standard cats (200 and they are good) went for Supersprint from the manifolds / pipes / exhaust / etc

True it was £3000 - 4000 but the benefits round urban / and the heart above 5,000 revs still remans

Hi Bear, as the MOT here in NI is done by government test stations it means there are only 17 test centres in the whole of NI. The test is a bit more regimented and standardised for this reason. In theory if a car passes anywhere in the U.K. It should pass in NI. I am just looking for any experiences by anyone putting a car with aftermarket exhaust through in NI recently. I have had many cars in the past with aftermarket exhausts with no problems but the last of those was probably 20 years ago!
