Cost of entry is £100 (which is cheap IMHO)

They sent me an application form as Jo and I have done the Run several times before, the last time was in 1993. The run has a good Tulip layout road book and is easy to do and there are some interesting stops en route. You also get to meet loads of other classic car owners. I am not sure what car to do it in as I do not want to clash with one of yours Helen, what car will you use? We will probably start in Norwich staying there overnight.

would have liked to have used the sporto but its out of action at the moment []

so its either the 914 or something new that i might buy this sunday [;)][8D][8D]

was thinking of starting in York just for the hell (furthest from Silverstone) of it. but could come down to Norwich if it would be more fun to do it togeather.[:-]

I don't really understand what you get for £100 ? It seems a bit steep just to 'parade' around silverstone & most of the stops en-route don't cost

I drove down from York area to Silverstone last Thursday for the classic & then had a full trackday on Silverstone circuit .. the cost of which was quite sensible compared to this event.

Agreed James - not sure what you get for your £100, particularly as I am only 45 minutes from Silverstone !

Would certainly go along to Silverstone to look at all the cars that arrive there from all over the place, but can I get in on that basis - i.e. is there a basic Silverstone entry fee.

Ian

No license required . . .

As regards cost - according to the leaflet you get - free entry into the check point venues visitied, driving time at the motor sports venues visited (e.g. prescott if you went from Bath), tulip map, rally plaque, finishers awards, a few laps of silverstone . . . oh and Norwich Union might do you a discount on your insurance. I suppose you've got a point, but anything under £100 these days seems cheap(ish) to me.

Hi All

Seems like good value to me what with all of the work that is involved in setting up such an event.

Have sent my application in (starting from Epsom) anybody going? let me know so that we can perhaps arrange a sort of convoy.

Have fun

Paul Kelley

Sounds different I have to say I mean it's bring in different classic cars. I will have a think about it..

mind you a few more laps of Silverstone and those corners..[:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]

I'm in !

I'm sending in my application tomorrow - first choice start: Epsom, second choice: Norwich.

It'll be interesting to see what we get to do at Millbrook - top level of the banking is hands-off at 100mph !. Mind you their website says you need a driving permit to use the facilities unaccompanied so it won't be too exciting. Circuit details are here.

Cheers

Phil,

Thats more like it.

I see I can start and finish at Silverstone with a driving route between - I had envisaged everbody starting somewhere and just ending at Silverstone.

Good point about Millbrook, but worth a look if nothing else.

I think I will be up for this.

Ian
