The 100k carpet (both LHD/RHD) is approaching as I predicted ..... [;)]

More to do with weakness of £ than actual car value i think.....unless you predicted the plummeting of £ against world currencies too Des[:D][:D][:D]

Lets see if any of these cars start to sell?...There are 64RS that have been advertised for a long time.

As we have seen the weak pound has led to european demand to repatriate the cars, from the time when many of us had the chance to buy them with a once mighty pound.

Partly due to numbers built and preferred seating position for many, we have had a positive spread where rhd cars have been priced higher.
The recent moves are mostly down to currency movements and we are still maintaning the same kind of premium for rhd.
In effect how much cheaper would a rhd have to be for a german/french buyer to be interested?

There will always be exceptional cars, without seeing it, the low miles, good colour, known history car may well atttract interest.
Howeve, remember each car is more or less priced on it's own merits, just because a rare exceptional car sells, it does not mean everything is at that level.
On the way up, there may be a grab fest, where buyers are happy to buy a type of car, knowing they won't lose out,,,but at higher prices with less transactions, in recessionary times,,,even aided by artificially low rates, buyers appear to be very discerning.

Currency has certainly lifted LHD to rare RHD carpet vaues without doubt but currency not helping the RHD cars except maybe Hong Kong .... who knows the future ..... [;)]

Des, I responded ref the HK currency pegged to US $ on the other thread....Ok $ based currencies have effectively strengthened, but cars have also gone up considerably to compensate, how are they any more attractive to HK buyers?...if the cars were still at £50-60k it would make sense, but with the top cars at £80k on the way to your £100k forecast, I don't see the incentive for buyers from HK. I would imagine 964RS buyers in HK to be quite an exclusive club anyway?

They're will always be demand for low mileage original cars in RHD from collectors in HK with money, while they exist. As far as I'm aware you can not register a LHD car there to use on the road.

The likelihood of RHD cars going across to the continent I see is almost nil. We will buy LHD (as on track it matters less too) but I don't see them buying RHD cars.

If the maritime car sells for 80k then its a one-off imho and will go to a collector. I don't see much UK demand for an £80k rhd 964RS lightweight tbh.

I think Ollies car is priced on the button and a very nice car that I'm surprised has not gone. That said the RS market is littered with buyers who only want low mileage original panel cars....irrespective of the cars 'actual' condition!

Thank you, Sir!

We will start as soon as you can pronounce "Eichhörnchenschwanz" or in Bavarian "Oachkatzlschwoaf" correctly. Please start your lessons with pronouncing "Jawohl" correctly. (Don´t forget to clap your heels with the last syllable)

Des, you will like the German words mentioned above, they mean "squirrel´s tail"

Bring home the homeless LHD RSs!
