oldtimer

....but just as beautiful [:)]
My other car after washing off the grime of a very wet Bedford trackday on Sunday and the return trudge on M1/North Circular to the genteel cobbled streets of Kensington. Just after this was taken a guy came up and wanted first refusal when I decide to sell.......not sure if it was right to decline ....could have gone for a Yellow Kettle ???

Lovely!

Great car, my sons like those better than the whole RS family...

Just wait and you´ll get three kettles for it. Unless Des won´t raise the prices.

The car is a 1969 911E and one of the previous owners spent a lot of time and money getting it to be a fast road car that could take trackdays in its stride , although not as focussed for that as a 964RS.
Karmann coupe non sunroof shell , wind up windows , 2.7RS door cards with pull loops , lightweight carpet , lightweight replica rally bucket seats , have not put it on scales but wont be much more than 900kg. Uprated shockers ( Bilstein) , uprated brakes (SC) , uprated 2.4S engine and uprated gearbox with LSD and 2.7RS ratios.
In answer to your question Melv , the car came with original 15x6 forged alloy Fuchs upfront , and very rare ex-factory 911R 15x7 Fuchs on the back running tubed tyres - no retaining beads on the early rims.
I had to find a later set of lightweight rims suitable for tubeless tyres for trackdays , its a narrow body with hardly any flare on the rear wheel arch which limits options, eventually found some 15x7 Compomotive Dage split rims that weigh same as Fuchs and had right offset ....the fronts are later pattern 15x6 Fuchs.
The detailing on the engine work done would take a whole other posting but last time it was on Bob Watsons rolling road it was showing 215 bhp so overall the power/weight is similar to a 964RS , however its bit peaky with 7200 rev cutout and no way will it stop like a 964RS so thats where the thrill factor comes in [:D]

Sounds like a nicely sorted car, and actually quite attractive in that colour. What carbs is it running? The engine sounds quite a beast, that's a lot of power from a small unit, esp for a road spec in mind. Like you say, I guess someone spent some cash on it! With 900kg and 200+bhp I bet its a little rocket, for a car that age. I almost think the older they get the more fun they are! Nice complement to the RS no doubt.

I think most of the early cars are a little peaky on delivery, esp if they are tuned, no bad thing in my mind, adds to the experience.
