Not A Lotta Boxster Owners Know This :-D

My MY03 "S" will need it's first service in March so I emailed 7 OPC's the following info
"Please can you confirm a price for the following work due this March and also if
you allow the 10% PCGB Membership Discount on this service.
I will be supplying my own Mobil 1
March 03 Boxster "S" 1st Service Mileage 4000 Apprx"

I received 5 replies with prices ranging from £235.00 - 266.00 incl of VAT & Any discounts. (3 Gave the 10% 2 don't)

But 2 OPC's advised me as follows:-

Any car with under 9000 miles can OFFICIALLY have an oil change & diagnostic check while you wait all for a cost of £84.95 labour less 10% + VAT 1st offer and £92.00 labour less 10% + VAT from the other OPC. (Oil from these guys was apprx £110.00 incl)

The £92.00ph OPC also said if the work was done in 30 minutes to 45 minutes the labour charge would be adjusted accordingly.

So for a sub 9K miles p.a. owner like myself, supplying my own Mobil 1 (purchased for £4.50 odd per litre from a Costco Special Offer) one years motoring can be had for under £140.00.

I can repeat this service in 05 if mileage done to date is similar plus a brake fluid change will be required.

Looks like 2/7 OPC's emailed here are finally getting with the plot..........

Very helpful - thank you! My Boxster will only have done about 8k when the first service is due so this is useful information.

Must be my web browser, but I can't find in the text WHO the 2 OPC's are that are willing to be open about servicing? These folk should surely be listed so others might benefit from them?

Incidentally, does anyone know of any good deals on Mobile 1 currently. The best I've seen is 4Ltrs @ £34

On the strength of daro911,s post.I phoned the service desk at Lindbrook Porsche(Kent). They confirmed that they do give a discount on production of a PCGB membership card.So thats good news.Bad news is that my 1st service last year 6000miles cost about £320.I<m told today that my 2nd service at about 11000miles will be a Big one which requiers a brake fluid change. Dont know what that costs but thanks for the info. re discounts.Received a letter from the same dealer the other day offering 10% discount on anything from the Porsche Selection. It all helps.

Ian .. According to Andy Thurgood 0118930 911 OPC Reading ... You should be good for an oil & filter change only + brake fluid. That lot should still cost you less than your 1st service did! Goos luck ..Robert

it's well worth shopping around the OPCs as they all have diffrent prices and deals.

[:D]Helen .. To help with the shopping any chance of another forum page titled OPC INFO listing all 33 UK OPC's with there full details especially email address .... You said somewhere you wanted a job :ROFLMAO:

Porsche Centre Mid Sussex (aka Rivervale Porsche) also do 10% discount on production of membership card. They also do a heritage scheme - the older the car the cheaper the labour!
