Jealous doesn't come close. I had a friend who spent some time hitched to a, how can I put this, "European person of some status in diplomatic circles". He was a fighter pilot, and not bad as a driver. He took me out in his modified ZR1.

From standing start, he launched down the Swindon sliproad onto the M4, and didn't stop until the little red numbers had stopped flashing. The fastest I've ever been on the ground by some margin. Of course, there aren't many corners on the M4 [;)], but I swore then that one day I'd have a Vette. Enjoy! [:)]

PS, I wouldn't mind Diplomatic Immunity, either....[8|]

5.7 LTR V8

LS1 Engine - 350 BHP

1470 Kilo

First car I have had with a DIC !!!!

The Driver Information Centre (DIC) shows just about everything digitally. Tyre Pressures, Oil Temp, G/Box Temp etc. It tells you any, I do mean any problems...........misfire on a cylinder.....fuel mixture.
If say the ABS did not function as it should it will tell you to check ABS. No need to plug in a laptop just press a couple of buttons and it will give you a code that tells you have a O/S Rear sensor needs replacing. It has over 300 codes and stores the history so you can check the frequency of intermittent faults.

Excellent Bose Hi Fi with 4 huge speakers

Dual A/C

Very comfortable to drive.

Interior a bit plastic.

Roof comes off (Targa)

Only service to do on the engine for the first 100k is oil/filter and Air Filter changes, after that you need a coolant change!!!

Security that good they sometimes refuse to unlock the steering......under any circumstances (a recall was issued to solve this)

Almost forgot to mention the Head Up Display (HUD) projected onto the windscreen like a jet fighter!!!

Has Traction and stability control.........not brave enough to switch it off......or rich enough as I think it would waist the new £500 rear tyres in minutes.

Loverly......................beautiful..............I had an acquaintance that had three new ones in a row.............sadly he lost the lot as his business went down the pan big time...............seriously brutally fast.......................you lucky person (jealous) One had a sticker in the window "do not open above 150mph" but he still lost his targa top at a lower speed [&o] [:D]

Its nice to see that people who appreciate cars dont migrate entirely from forums that were due to their previous love/hate relationships with a car.

So many times you see and read " .................after ten years on this forum its goodbye from me as I`ve bought something different"...............why?

Why not stay on all forums (as I do) [:)] I love the varied chat.

Hear hear. [8D]

I also don't want to appear to be a newbie when I finally collect my 997.1 GT3. One day (sigh).

Hi Mike

That looks great [:D][:D][:D]

I look forward to a passenger ride it that soon[;)]

My 44 is going on the 19th March which is exactly 6 years to the day I bought it[:(][:(][:(]

All yank cars are unable to go around corners, apparently !

Thats what I thought, pushed it a little bit the other day and was very surprised.

It does not learn over like I thought it would but it does have the sports suspension pack.

Its similar weight to a Turbo (sunroof models) but the centre of gravity is alot lower. Wings, Hood[:D],Roof, Trunk[:D] etc. are all plastic.

First corvette to have a transaxle so near 50/50 balance.

Lots of rubber 275-18 rear, 245-14 front

Suspension is very light as the springs run horizontal under the car and are made of..........Plastic (I also didn't believe it)

I have never seen one on the track so you could be correct from a racing point of view.

Mike

Nice. Get some US spec rear lenses to replace the half-n-half red / orange which spoils the look. Put an orange bulb in the indicator part and it'll be ok. Probably... [:)]
