Naaah. Cant catch us out. You're going after one of them Parr Turbos. Its what I'd do if I wasn't 70 next year. Rascal. JohnC 993turbo

Hi Alex I am looking for a Cayman right now although I haven`t decided about spec or age. Looked at a new 2.9 before Christmas but the costs are scary. Have you got any photos ? Thanks

Its the depreciation that is scary and I can see from the various threads that its been a similar experience for many members. This was a surprise to me as I had expected Porsche to do better. I think running costs look OK. The Porsche finance guy at my local OPC suggested a £20K depreciation over 3 years on a fairly basic 2.9 (list £42K) with 10K miles per year maximum. He was saying that residual forecasts have improved in recent months with Porsche expecting second hand prices to strengthen over the next few years (whatever that means). I am also looking at second hand cars with low mileage and will be viewing a 3.4S today - Oct 2006 with 9K miles and a private seller. 19 inch wheels and no PASM so it will be interesting to see how it drives.

Hello Switchdoctor, I'm now back from the Round Britain Tour of eating and drinking. I will post some snaps when I get home this evening - I was intending to take some more formal photographs next week but I may have a few dotted about. If you want to see the car, I'm in West Oxfordshire and my home 'phone is 01993 842740 Alex

Here it is by the gateway to heaven.

Thanks Alex. Great location - good to see you`ve got your priorities right. I have seen a great 3.4S locally as a private sale with one owner and 9K miles. Its 3 years old and I am going to invest in a Porsche dealer inspection. If the results are OK a deal will be done. I will let you know. Thanks

i have just sold mine for £26k 19k miles spec as per my signature-just to give you an idea when bargaining on price -best of luck

Although my car is now 4 years old, it has the benefit of new tyres, new engine, 12 months MOT, and most importantly, 12 months Porsche warranty and Porsche assistance renewable until 2016.

What's going on Alex, Alan and Dyllan......is there something you're not telling us. You've either sold, or are selling your Caymans all in the last couple of weeks [:D]

Still a brilliant car and would have one over a 997 anyday, unfortunately my mother-in-law has trouble getting in/out (my wife uses it predominantly) so that means a Mini/A-Class replacement :(

My 2006 Cayman S is for sale and I will be posting advertisements next week. 4year major service just done, full Porsche Warranty and MOT & Tax for 1 year. Plus new tyres and brake discs. 38,000 miles with new engine at 23,000 miles. PASM and Comms package, 18s and rear wiper. £26,001

the mini isnt much easier to get in and out of-- tho it IS easier to get in and out of the back[:D] i just wasnt using the cayman much so seemed a shame just letting it stay in the garage, doing 4-5k miles a year.its replacement will be more appropriate for high days and holidays[;)]
