Have you tried turning the key in the opposite direction first, then clockwise to start her up?
Also as a secondary thought, have you checked your battery is holding enough charge....battery issues are related to many of the cars not so good points.
Keep us posted on your progress and if you find a fix
Cheers FP
I have not tried turning key opposite direction first! What does that do?
I was thinking battery charge could be possible issue. Can you charge the battery on the vehicle without issues?
I am having a service at weekend and plugs being changed so will see if that makes any difference

Turning the key anti clockwise as far I as understand is like a reset for failed start....so my thinking was try it before you do start it.
As for the battery there are terminal points under plastic cover on passenger side under bonnet. The closest one is neg the positive should have a red safety cap fitted. I've currently got battery issues and have car on charge until I get time to change the battery. Had zero issues with being on charge, just buy a really good charger - not a halfords jobbie ;-)
If your having plugs changed, make sure corrected items are installed..... Take note of what comes out. But more importantly have the coil packs inspected!!!

Well that is good news.
I had to replace my battery yesterday....As long as you have the correct tools AND battery job should only take 40mins!!
I have installed a Bosch S5 Silver HSB 020 / 920A ~ 110a (not the HSB019 as stated in spec chart)
