Not sure what price to pitch my car at

Hi,
The time has come to part with my 944. Will most likely advertise it on pistonheads, on here and then eventually ebay and obviously wash and wax it, check all fluids etc. Only thing is, not sure what to pitch it at, obviously I know what I want for it, but I dont want to either under or over price it. Spec is:
1989 2.7 Slate Grey (How rare are they? I know 2.7's werent produced for long), Brown pinstripe interior in good condition
145,000 miles, service history for last 7 years, last serviced 3,000 miles ago, have got a service kit for it for the next one.
New master cylinder just fitted
6 months tax, 4 months M.O.T
All electrics working
Clubsport steering wheel
Boxster 17" alloys, not perfect condition but not too bad

Bad Points
Small areas of surface rust here and there
Will need rear tyres for M.O.T
Thats it!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Iain

Sounds pretty similar to my Lux. I priced it at middle level compared to the other cars out there, excluding the £4K chancers. I went in at £1500, got close to that.[:)]

Probably a black trim and better described as that in the ad. Brown ovals were quite rare in RHD and I think[/] that 1987 was the last year, so Im confident that its black with black pinstripe thats faded... [:D]

Do you have the original steering wheel?

If you do I'd refit it and sell the Clubsport steering wheel separately as they always get very strong money (assuming it's the real deal) but I doubt it'll will increase the value of your car to an average buyer particularly.

Plus there's been much talk recently (albeit about Turbos) concerning buyers wanting cars to be as original as possible.

Having seen a pic of the clubsport wheel in the Porsche Shop, it does look as though its the real thing, it came with the car however so I dont have an original one.
As far as the brown interior goes, you are probably right about it being a faded black, looks much better in brown though I think, suitably 80's!
Id like around the £2k mark for it, just didnt want to go in with my size 12's on and be disappointed to be told its worth no more than £1300.

Any other opinions welcome.....

Thanks,

Id hope for more than £2,000 for a relatively decent 2.7l. With regards to originality Jamse: perhaps its the way that you say it that rubs people up the wrong way?

Dont price it relative to cars on ebay... 90% of the cars my customers have bought on ebay have been complete wrecks.

Piston heads is often a good yard stick... but some of the cars in the lower 50% price level are either iffy or bargains..

If its a good solid example, I would price it around £2k from your description, £2.5k if it didnt have the rust scabs, if it was sub 100k miles and without rust, I would price it around £3k..
