Hi Everyone

Just to remind you all that the next club night on Novenber 5th at the Cooper's Arms
After the meeting we have a talk by Mike Wilds which promises to be both informative and amusing as he has titled his talk 'Mike Wilds' attempts to go racing'.
He is also a Porsche owner

Mike drove World Championship Formula One for BRM and Ensign in the 1970's, has won 12 British Championships in single seaters and sports cars, won the Group C2 Team World Championship with Ecurie Ecosse in 1986, competed in eleven 24 Hour Races including the famous Le Mans 24 Hour Race seven times, has driven in the British Touring Car Championship, provides tuition for manufacturers such as BMW, Lexus, FIAT, Jaguar, Mercedes Benz and Porsche plus Mike still currently competes in the European Endurance "˜Britcar' Championship.

Will be far more interesting than watching fireworks burning money !!

Cheers

Kerry and Tom

I would have loved to come to this but I have promised my kids fireworks on bonfire night, for those going or thinking about going it will be a great night out listening to Mr Wilds he has some great stories to tell and is one of the nicest people I have ever met,he is a brilliant driver of course, and is an amazingly calm and informative instructor. He is also a HUGE Porsche enthusiast,a real gem.
Have a great time all.[:)]

Mike's a great character and enthusiast.

Loves his Porsches, and not only can he teach you to drive, he can teach you to fly - 10,000+ hrs on helicopters.

Sounds like a good speaker, apols, we will miss it as we have to watch money burn:)

BTW Anyone doing the Oulton Park trackday on 13Nov (praying for good weather)...

Clarkey

Still thinking about Oulton Park on 13th after a great and dry Cadwell last month
Kerry

Hope you all had a fun meet tonight,I am going to the Oulton track day in a road car 944 just to be sociable, maybe see some of you there[:D]

I think everyone will agree Mike's talk was a facinating insight into motor racing from the late 60s to present day.
Many thanks to Mike to sharing his story with us.
Kerry
