Hi All

Just a reminder of a few events coming up before Christmas.

Chester Zoo visit "" 4th November

A group of R18 members are having a weekend away in Chester next weekend and are visiting Chester Zoo on Sunday 4th November which is being arranged by Lesley Plank.

"Hi everyone.

A suggestion was made that we went to Chester Zoo on Sunday the 4th November when we are in Chester.

I have been looking at the prices for entry. Unfortunately we are still in the high season category so prices are:-

Adult £16.30, Concessions £15.00.

However if 15 or more of us want to go the prices come down to Adult £12.60 and Concessions £9.80. In order to get this the group booking has to be made on-line before we go.

I am happy to do the booking if I can get 15 or more people wanting to go.

Therefore if you would let me know before the 31st October whether you want to go and whether you need adult or concessionary tickets, then providing we get 15 people interested I will gladly book.

You can Email me at lesleyplank@sky.com

Regards,

Lesley Plank"

Lesley, depending on your guest list, make sure you count them in and count them out of Chester zoo. It would be terrible if anyone were to be detained in the monkey house...

Another couple of dates for the diary are Tuesday 13th November - PCGB track day at Oulton Park. All being well, myself, Jeremy and Jamie will be on track all day and Colin in the afternoon. Dean and Brian will be spectating.

Jeremy is keen for as many of us possible to get on track and for anyone toying with the idea, last year's was a real "if Carlsberg did track days" experience with few cars on track at any time, impeccable track manners from all participants and a great atmosphere. Most of the participants were novices who always kept out of the way of the R18 driving god that is Heney [:D]. If you have ever thought about doing a track day, it would be hard to imagine a more pleasurable introduction and instructors are always available at modest cost.

November 14th is the R5 monthly meeting at Wilmslow OPC which a number of us have been to before. Dean is keen to go to this. Chance for a tunnel run under the airport runway, a chance to drool over new Porsches and we usually have a nosey at the Aston Martin dealership on the way home. The hospitality is usually very generous and last time I went there was a chance to visit the new Ferrari/Maserati dealership opposite it too. They usually also have good prizes in a quiz, discounted stuff from the parts department etc.

Edited to add, there is more info about this on the R5 forum which gives more information - looks like the prizes will be very special!
