PCGB R4 " Novice driver circuit Induction Day with AW Repair Group

R4 have arranged to hold another "Novice driver circuit Induction Day" at Blyton Park Driving Centre, near Gainsborough.

Similar to the last event, but improved following our feedback, we will be holding a full day course from 8-5. Five Instructors will be available and all cars will receive 3x sessions of free instruction on track. All vehicles on track will be under supervision/instruction as this is not an open "track day". Catering will be available throughout the day and local accommodation can be arranged at discounted prices.

The event will be held on Friday 14 Sept, with signing on at 0800. We have been able to reduce the entry to £70/PCGB driver and £90 for non-members. Commemorative on-circuit photography will be available on the day.

Contact Gavin Marshall for entry form at:

This induction day is restricted to max 36 cars and has to be 1st come 1st served; don't delay![/b]

Gavin, e-mail sent, should be even better than the first one. Well done to the organisers. Mick Green 964

Entry list has been open 10 days, we have managed to get 12 entries so far; just 24 places remaining. Submit an application for an entry ASAP, the cheque doesn't need to be paid until a Month before the event. Keep watching this space for more info and updates coming soon. For those not wanting to drive on this event, we would still like you to come along; we will have things to do and see and plenty of time to chat.

We are delighted to announce that our Novice driver circuit induction day will now be sponsored by "AW Repair Group (Sleaford)" We are very grateful for the support and confidence in R4 and hope this will be a long term relationship. As a result of this support, we are able to pass this on to our participating members; consequently the entry fee will now be reduced to £70 for members and £90 for non-members. All cheques will be returned uncashed and we would appreciate passing on or sending cheques for the new fee.

Start applying for entry forms now if you have not already done so. Cheques req to be paid 3 weeks before the event. Already virtually half of the permitted 36 entries have been snapped up, don't delay. Spectators and social visitors most welcome, all free! Only Porsches allowed to enter for Induction day on track. Instructor is mandatory (and free) for all participants as part of our contract with the circuit owner for insurance purposes.

Thank you to Richard and Gavin for introducing us yesterday to Richard Usher, the owner of Blyton Park Driving Centre ahead of the induction day on Friday 14th September. We are very proud to have been asked to support the event and look forward to meeting all the members on the day - Fingers crossed for fine weather on the day! Payment for those attending the Induction day as Drivers, needs to be submitted by Aug 17th as we have to pay PCGB for circuit hire in advance. All Cheques need to be made out to PCGB Region 4. Just a reminder, we need to get all bookings done ASAP. We currently have about 15 entries remaining! In association with AW Repair Centres, we are hoping to have new models available to view.

Just a reminder, Entries for the Novice driver circuit induction day with AW Repair group event need to be paid ASAP; Cheques made out to Porsche Club GB Region 4. We only have 10 entries remaining available plus a couple of reserve places for those not paying on time. Please don't leave this until the last minute as we will be offering it out to other regions next week. All 5 instructors are confirmed and good weather has been booked. Gavin

Just confirmed my entry to the Blyton induction day. I've done this for two reasons, I'd like to enjoy the car more than the public roads will allow, and also I'd like to keep Graham company in the old pre '74 category as he appeared a bit lonely the last time!

Good news Cliff, it will be good to have 2 proper Porsche's on the track, none of this Abs, power steering and servo-assisted brakes for us. We just need to convince Brad to come now.

I have had a request for an entry from Brod too, not returned yet, but could be an oldies session! Sorry I mean Cars not drivers. lol

I am sorry to keep going on. I encourage any of you thinking about track days or just gaining experience in your cars, please consider our Blyton Park novice Induction Day supported by AW Repair Group (Sleaford). I still have a good few entries available, having had some cancellations. These days are an excellent opportunity to get to know your car a bit better and in a safe environment. Experiment with things your would never want to try on the road! Although Instruction is mandatory, do not think you have to be a complete novice to benefit from these days. Do not delay, have a go; spread the word around and encourage friends. So far I only have 9 entries from R4. If you would like to come along to assist Richard in the organisation of the event, please drop us a line. Likewise if you would just like to come along and spectate, sit around and have a chat and a picnic; we would be delighted to see as many of you as possible. As this event is being supported by AW repair Group (Sleaford), it would be nice to show our support for the event!

Due to a number of late cancellations and following on from a few requests, we are able to offer a half day, 2 session opportunity. These places are available at £50/member £70/guest, with driver briefing and signing on at 1100. Please contact me ASAP for an entry form. Gavin

With just 10 days to go, we are looking forward to a great day at Blyton Park. I have put in a special request for good weather and according to the long range forecast, it will be warm and clear with slight cloud and 20 degrees. We have had a few more takers for the event, especially the 1/2 day 2 sessions. We still have just a few places remaining, so if you are still wondering whether to do it, just bite the bullit and contact me ASAP. Final instructions will be sent out this weekend. Helpers and spectators would be most welcome.

To all those members who attended our 2nd Novice Induction Day at Blyton Park, Thankyou very much for your support. I know some of you had a long way to travel. I would also offer a big thankyou to Andrew Walsh and Anna from AW Repair Group (Sleaford) who were the event sponsors. Fortunately we didn't have to give you any new customers yesterday! We are also grateful to porsche centre nottingham for bringing the new Boxster to display, although he didn't let me get my hands on it on the track. Finaly to Richard and Jane Usher, circuit owners at Blyton Park, for being such good hosts and always making us feel very welcome. I know we will be seeing a lot more of you; judging by the comments from the drivers. Oh, nearly forgot, our Instructors; Gawain, Nick, Mike and mike(Martin). I know your efforts were greatly appreciated by the drivers and certainly by the organising team. My vote for award of the day, goes to a session, "The Old Boys"; the 4 guys in the older Porsches who gave a demonstration of commitment and total pleasure and in my eyes, envisaged what being a porsche enthusiast was all about. Richard and Pam, another succesful event you have pulled together, it's been a good year. Please feel free to comment on your experience. Regards Gavin
