Battery flat having been sat on drive unused for 4 weeks, tried jump leads, immobiliser seemed to come off ok, turned key, lots of clicking from under bonnet [ fuel pump I presume] and nothing else. THe engine is not turning over so I'm guessing starter motor, may be stuck somehow...does anybody have any ideas....there isn't room for a bump start where its parked. I've heard rocking the car in gear sometimes works.
any ideas gratefully received

Firstly, I'm no expert with cars, but is it possible that the battery is so flat, that even with extra power from jump leads, there just isn't enough to turn the engine over. It is a large engine to power over. What the battery could probably do with is an overnight trickle charge. This may just save it. Remember to check the water levels in the cells first.
I wouldn't suspect the starter motor yet, before trying to eliminate the battery.

I'm with Simon on that. Domestic jump leads are often pretty naff and unable to transfer the sort of current the 944 requires to start it. If you have enough power for the electrics to work I've found a tow start can get things going. NB: Please check the hand book, I don't know if you should tow start a 944, but it works for me.

[FONT=Arial"]If you have a boost charge on your charger you can 'jump' it with that. But do it quick before things blow up. That's really bad advice I guess?[FONT=verdana, geneva"]
