does anyone know how to access the bulb on the number plate light

according to the handbook the unit just slides out and the bulb can be removed.

having looked at it though i can't get anything to slide out at all.

does anyone know how it is done?

I've never looked closely at this but have noticed that if you squat down and look above the rear number plate you will see 4 small screws, 2 either side of each light. Surely if you remove them, then fold down the boot carpet inside the car you should be able to release the bulb holders?

i had thought of that but my screws are firmly rusted in place and wont budge

according to the handbook though it should just slide out, and you shouldnt need to touch the screws

Ca you get teh bulb out without disturbing the lamp? I think thr panel is singe skinned and therefore the back of the lights should be accessible from inside the boot. Never needed to do it, mind.

On the North American cars you need to get inside under the rear carpet with a wrench because there is a free nut on the other end of each screw.

No way you can just slip out a bulb holder.

But as everything Porsche, who knows about different market and year of manufacture cars.

Same on both of mine, If I recall ...

yes really silly small nuts and tiny rusty heads - i changed one for someone a couple of months back - unusually bad engineering.
