hiya all, notice a crack in front number plate, is it possible to buy replacement plates from local opc ?and if yes what sort of price? my car is originally a lancasters car, if that helps. cheers jason p

Lancasters in Colchester?

I bought my number plates from them earlier in the year. I got a set of GB plates, as I used my car on holiday abroad. The plates without the Blue GB section are about £12 each + VAT IIRC and plates with the blue GB section are £18.50 + VAT.

I bought both front and rear, but they only charged me for one [:D]

Both my cars have local reg numbers EC prefix, my local OPC (Andrew and Jonathon) lads have made me up some nice period plates for the new addition (220) they have small Porsche badges either side of the dealer lettering

Parker and Parker Kendal Cumbria
Official Porsche Centre

They look the muts doo dahs so i have asked them to knock another set up for the Turbo S, due to recent corporate image changes you would normally get Porsche .Co. UK/Kendal as all the Porsche dealers now are known as Kendal/Bolton/Manchester etc.

Ask the people in the parts centre which used to be Lancaster and they should have some old stuff knocking about, i also managed to get the last Parker and Parker rear screen decal nice to make the car look period.......IMO of course.

I went the other way and got completely plain plates from Craigs Plates online. Technically show plates, they have no postcode, dealer name (would have been Reading) or logo. I really liked them. £25 for both IIRC.

Now being enjoyed by a new owner, hopefully.

You mean you guys actually put number plates on your cars?

Nutters. Fine for not displaying a registration number is £20, non-endorsable. Fine for doing anything wrong and having your displayed registration caught on a scamera is about three times that, and three points.

I know which one I choose ...

Oli.

(This post is written in jest, but the underlying facts are true. I just wish I had the courage do do as I am suggesting.)

James-G would be fine since his plate looks like an old number plate (i.e with the old wider Charles Wright Font compared to the more Euronised 'New Charles Wright' Font).

For old stock plates, try Framptons who make them to 1980s spec (wider numbers etc.). Site is www.pl8s.com.

For those with OPC plates can they send a pic?

Mark sad brother, i also like them i have them on both cars and have a couple of spares, what is the best way to post pics ?
I will get some sorted of number plates.

I have plain plates, held in place with plate surrounds.

look a lot nicer in my opinion without the dealer telephone & postcode etc.

Nice looking car you have there Andy, but refit that rear number plate to sit central !
That would drive me nuts [&o]

Hi Frenchy, just an optical illusion it would drive me mad too, this is not such a good pic but the plate is central.

anyone know where you can get the black plastic surounds with German lettering along the bottom. I've seen silver ones on the link below, but not black.

Dubmeister do some plate surrounds similar to what you are after.

They also do legal Euro look pressed plates but I personally hate them.
