Well it's happening quite soon am off to the ring for the weekend,
have really left it a little late and getting booked into a hotel was a bit of
a mission.
Am quite excited at no speed limits on parts of the Autobahnarama
so hope to see some high numbers on the speedo occasionally!
Also managed to obtain a newer version of the Europe sat nav cd,last time
interesting in France when visiting Djon we
actually went down a cobbled road only to find it was being changed to a tram line evasive action to avoid the builders workmen was called for!
Hopefully this situation we can avoid, although the journey looks pretty
straightforward.
This will be my first time visit to Germany so a new experience and
hopefully a smooth one![8|]

Enjoy the experience ,just watch out in rear mirrors for German Porsches doing 160and above Mph!!!

I've never driven a route that included de restricted sections on my way there on three occasions, are you going out of your way to find them?

Never stopped us in France though!

Have a great time. We did a European road trip for our family holiday last summer - reached the Porsche Museum - there was plenty of derestricted autobahn on our route. If you've never done it before you do need to re-adjust a little. Speed differentials can be huge.

Be careful in France. Whilst the opportunity will undoubtably arise to explore the high speed abilities of your car, if you get caught doing so by les flics, the penalties can be both instant and harsh.

Travelled back from Sontheim-Brenz to Calais after visiting friends, set satnav to avoid tolls & route was via Aachen, lovely roads, unrestricted & unbelievably planted at 160mph.....

enjoy [:D]

Have just returned from taking my 2000 Boxster S to the ring for the DTM weekend. What a car! Also did a lap of the Nordschleife, a fantastic buzz.

Also, for anyone living in Yorkshire, have used RPM Specialist cars near Harrogate. Cant rate them highly enough for quality work, reasonable prices and practical advice on a 13 yr old car. I decided to get 4 wheel GEO done before the trip and air on the side of caution after a small crack in O/S drive shaft boot was found before the trip. Really pleased i did as made for worry free 1,400 miles in 4 days.

I love the boxster
