Nurburgring Insurance

I'm off to the 'Ring on the 18/8. Does anybody know if there is any such thing as a 1 day comprehensive policy to cover me on the circuit, and if yes, who provides it.

Apologies if there is already something on the forum, I did a quick search and couldn't see an obvious answer to my question.

The 'ring is a public road, so as long as you tell your insurers you need European cover (green card) there shouldn't be a problem.

Nice theory and worked a few years ago, unfortunately many insurance companies have wised up and make exclusions for that particular part of Germany......best to check with or risk the chance you may actually be uninsured after all.

Julio - I am heading over to the Ring that weekend in the new track toy, hope to see you there. Can't help with insurance though I am afraid, most places seem to specifically exclude it.

Regards

Cool, my itinerary is roughly:

  • 18/8 1pm P&O Dover to Calais
  • 18/8 Hotel Wilhelmshoehe
  • 19/8 am few laps - nice and steady!
  • 19/8 Disco pants on for a night in Brussels
  • 20/8 5pm Calais to Dover
Any overlap?
