Nurburgring Trips

We are planning a trip from the northeast region next May/June, just waiting for the ring to announce the public dates in 2009 which apparently will be around January, so I'd like to hear peoples advice on going too [:D]

Unfortunately you wont get any .... I tried to get some and ended up going without .....

The problem I observed was as follows:
1. It is not a track day, so track day insurance does not cover you.
2. It is a toll road, so in theory your insurance covers you ... but alas insurance companies exclude this particular road, some even have it printed in the terms & conditions exclusions.

I did it on my motor bike a couple of years ago. This is a must but please be careful as a few binned it while I was there. I met and english guy (can't remember his name but he was working for a petroleum company - (may well be a member) who took me on a lap in his 2.7 Boxster, he had a season ticket . Only mods were upraded brake pads and sticky tyres - fantastic ride.

Done it in March this year, it snowed so they opened the F1 track up and I had 15 laps on that for 20 euros which was awesome, kept up with most things but there were 2 997 GT3's on the track that came past you like you was stationary. Pulling out of pits where Lewis Hamilton and the rest of the F1 cars pull out in your own car was great.
