If anyone is interested there's a packed weekend at the 'Ring on the 31st August - 2nd September: it's the annual DTM weekend, and the 'Ring is also open to the public all day on the Sat/Sun.

I'll be heading down in a large group of about 20-25 other cars (mostly Pork) on Friday morning. If anyone else is heading down on the Friday morning, give us a shout and you're welcome to join us on the convoy down.

Going over on an early ferry on Friday and travelling down for the weekend.
Look forward to hooking up with more pork owners.

Suspect it will be full of GB stickers again as it is an early start on both days.
Already know of about 40/50 owners going. Should be fun.
Weather looks poor though. Hopefully it will keep some away and stay good for us.

Look out for a reently detailed 964 Guards Red G95***.

Excellent - we'll be on the 0950 Chunnel and aim to rendezvous with several others at Jabbeke around 1215-1230. Reckon there will be numerous others at 30min intervals more or less!

an amazing trip, reports and pics starting to appear at http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=14642

this trip had everything

1. great route out
2. that became top speed when finally on the autobahns
3. then awesome b roads in (the 410)
4. some sneaky laps in on the 1st evening
5. a good full day of ring lapping, getting up to pace, learning more and more
6. another great night at the pistenklus (sp?)
7. 2nd day where we all hooked it up, I managed to knock in 22 driven laps and was up to some serious pace at the end, keeping up with almost everything in sight, just, with some help from a Ring Master
8. an even better b-road route back out (410 with a fw changes)
9. a blast into the german countryside, as Olaf Ade did a piece on Shell Stations for the Time Team TV show
10. final motorway blast
11. minor glith on the chunnel by the french on the way back
12. job done in the company of Ade, Dan, Marcus & Alan, Harald, Flat Six, Lee et al what a weekend

I'm a solid 9'59 around the ring, [:-] so much quicker than the Manthey day a few months ago, I've finally 'started' to hook up the laps

back home with 1300 miles on the odometer and 6 full tanks of petrol, what a trip

same time next year [:D]

Absolutely amazing weekend! Deffo the best trip I've had to the 'Ring - mostly because of the great weather (basically dry for the entire weekend apart from some very early Sat am drizzle that had dried by 11am). Also, there were relatively very few closures compared to normal. Didn't take many pics as I was too busy driving most of the time, but here are a couple on the way down!
