Well I have now managed to complete a successful weekend at the Ring via Ecurie25, my first.

We have had a truly amazing weekend driving Ecurie25's cars to the Ring, driving track cars from RSR just 2 minutes from the entrance, then another day at the Jaguar test centre with XK and saloon and seeing the new XJ before coming home last night.

We shared between us an LP560-4 in white, a 430 and 360 spyder and a new California, a DBS, a Maser GTS, an R8, a Bentley GTC and a back up M5 for the luggage. Extensive usage of the cars was amazing. For example I drove the 430 spyder back to Calais from near Spa and the Lambo back home overnight from Dover. The Lambo attracted the most attention and drove so well at nearly 200mph, the GTS Maser was the suprise gem in the pack and the California a great GT car.

I managed to complete 9 laps during Sunday including a high speed one in a GT3RS which was amazing and the day exhausting.

Hats of the guys there for arranging the great weekend, being a member is quiet special. I recommend it, especially with a GT3 coming to the fleet soon and a 458 arriving hopefully next year. Happy to effect an intro if you ask.

Confident now to take the turbo for a spin there but would also recommend RSR, we used their clio cups and megane R26's which they rent ion an all inclusive basis. Check them out on google.

Sounds a great trip, was meant to go with the GRRC last year - booked and paid for - but unable to make it in the end. The key seems to be to have instructers who know hteir way round to help novices to the circuit. Keeping an eye out for another trip, I don't fancy an open day.

Do RSR still run the old-but-fun Alfa's?

I chose a Clio, as it was the [ahem] safer option, but was shocked at the ESP's intervention on the karousel! Once switched off, it exited at a blinding speed however, and struck me as a cheap nasty car with a brilliant chassis, and strong performance.

I'm hoping the Carrera will be a better experience...[&:]

Yes we had access to the Clio Cup (agree with the comments), the Megane r26 and the Alfa, optional on other cars like M3 and Lotus but excesses went much higher eg EURO70000 on the GT3RS, so no one took that out.

Check out the video link on www.ecurie25.co.uk so see details of the trip
