On behalf of the R18 members who joined R5 for lunch today at Nutter. I would like to thanks Adrian for organising a great event.

The drive was interesting,a nd brougt back memories of when I supplied the footwear industry which was extensive in the Rosendale Valley. but is now only full of importers, niot manufacture rers.

Lunch at Nutters was fabulous and great value, We can't wait until next years event.

One day I will get across to Nutters. I have been meaning to do so for years now!

As a proud born and bred patriot form Rossendale I find it quite sad that the shoes factories and indeed the cotton industries of the Rossendale valley have closed and changed the face of the 'valley' forever.

Perhaps one day when the costs of Far East manufacturing becomes excessive we may find a return of the 'slipper works' - but I won't hold my breath on that score!

In the meantime I will continue my missionary work hear on the Fylde Coast.
